Teams In Danger
Aptima researcher Dr. Summer Rebensky was looking to study the interaction of teams when faced with a multiplayer search and rescue simulation.
Dr. Rebensky challenged The GRILL to make a realistic multiplayer search and rescue simulation to study team interactions.
Using Unreal Engine 4, VaRest, and Mixamo, the students created a simulation where participants are placed into teams and assigned one of 4 roles, each with unique abilities. They created the simulation to collect data on team interactions that can then be used for research purposes.
The team said that if they had more time they would want to integrate a searcher dog role, and adding more realism to the simulation, specifically by adding sounds.
