Identify Friend Or Foe
The Optical Radiation Bioeffects Branch in the USAF 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) challenged the GRILL® to create a simulation that studies reaction time while wearing laser eye protection goggles.
Summary
The students at the GRILL® created a flight simulation in which you must navigate under the effects of different laser eye protection goggles.

Outcomes and Additional Information
The purpose of this project is to create a scenario where researchers can collected data on how color perception can affect the detection of color-coded information and reaction time.
This project allows researchers to investigate how various colors of Laser Eye Protection Goggles can affect performance.
Users complete primary and secondary tasks in virtual reality (VR), in which they must correctly identify if a stimulus is a friend or foe while also navigating rings spawned randomly on the map.
