Outcomes and Additional Information
The team was challenged to replicate the Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (eFAST) exam experience in VR.
The trainer needed to feature live images on ultrasound, be fully immersive and realistic, and integrate VR controllers and trackers in the simulation.
The eFAST exam is meant to train for immediate action on the field.
Future work for the project includes simulation compatibility with augmented reality (AR), producing more animations for additional internal organs, refining features such as the calibration feature, and adding more options to cater the needs for medical professionals.
